This song was inspired and written during my artist residency at Doris Duke's Shangri La home in Hawaiʻi, and tells the story of the Hawaiian moʻo wahine Kalamainuʻu and the serpentine goddess Shahmaran. Though from different parts of the world, their stories are intertwined.
