This is the second part of two part sermon series exploring the 'Sermon on the Mount' that Jesus gave. This sermon begins with the first verse of the 6th chapter of what was recorded by Matthew. Each and every verse of the 6th ad 7th chapters of Matthew's Gospel is covered as are aspects of this message as reported by Luke. Jesus taught not to do good works/alms/charitable deeds to be seen by others. He also taught how to pray, not to worry, but that our priority should be on the Kingdom of God. Vain repetitions in prayer were condemned. Quotes from the Apostle John, Polycarp of Smyrna, and Herbert W. Armstrong, were included. Giving and tithing were discussed as well as faith. The need to obey God was emphasized as was the difference between a true and false prophet. The fact that Jesus taught that the broad way, not the narrow and true way would be accepted by many. How to determine the true way was discussed as was the biblical need to obey God. Judging and condemnation were discussed, as was loving one's neighbor. The pearl of great price and fruits of a true prophet were covered, including various confirmed predictions. The view the Philadelphian portion of the Church of God was to restore truths in the last days was also covered. Aspects of growth and gospel proclamation were covered as were Jesus' warnings to those who hear, but do not obey.
