Shasta County Clerk and Registrar of Voters Clint Curtis says he wants to hire former Colorado election official Tina Peters to work in the county elections office, months after she was released from prison following convictions tied to an election security breach.
Curtis said he wants Peters to replace Assistant Registrar of Voters Brent Turner, who has been on medical leave. Curtis said he would like to bring Peters on through a contract rather than hire her as a county employee.
