The Tinker Dad | Sensible - Monitor Everything With Home Assistant! (Project Showcase) @TheTinkerDad | Uploaded March 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
In this video I showcase Sensible, a project I've been working on lately. I've made this video with the hope that many of my viewers will find useful. Sensible is an opensource project and makes you able to automatically create Home Assistant sensors out of any data you can get your hands on when it comes to a Linux server, an LXC or a Docker container or even a Raspberry Pi using MQTT discovery. This video is the first part of a tutorial series focusing on the usage of Sensible and the projects I can make with it.
Chapters:
00:00 Intro and foreword
00:33 The story behind this project
02:37 Getting Sensible
03:43 What does Sensible do? (Demo)
04:58 How does Sensible work?
07:14 How to use it?
11:49 Creating your own sensor
14:49 Sensible's sensors on the Lovelace UI
16:51 Summary and what's next?
17:29 Closing words and outro
