BCA's Send and Return video series is all about riding hard in the backcountry--according to the avalanche conditions. In this episode, BCA snowmobilers Mike Duffy, Hayden Fake, and Bruce Edgerly learn a thing or two about snowbiking from pro rider Walker Houghton. Filmed on their home turf in Colorado by Jaya Lange of Trax Film, this video shows our crew doing all the right things: planning their route according to the avalanche forecast, performing an avalanche transceiver trailhead test, periodically discussing their options and checking the snowpack along the way. With ten inches of powder over a thick crust, the conditions were challenging, but Houghton rose to the occasion, showing why a snowbike can be the tool of choice in this terrain.
