Republican Vice Presidential nominee Senator JD Vance responds to a question at the beginning of the debate about whether they would support or oppose a preemptive strike by Israel on Iran, in the vice presidential debate hosted by CBS News in New York City.

Vance and Democratic candidate Tim Walz clashed on a range of policy issues Tuesday, including gun control, abortion and the spiraling violence in the Middle East, as they faced off in a debate in New York.
