Ralph Shortey, former Oklahoma state senator, county Trump campaign organizer, and owner of "Holy Grounds" coffee shop, was caught in a Super 8 Motel with a 17-year-old boy he met on Craigslist.
But who can blame Senator Shortey.. this boy scout was under a lot of stress, what with a pregnant wife and a sick three-year-old.
His charges include engaging in child prostitution, transporting a minor for prostitution, and (since it's Oklahoma) engaging in prostitution within 1,000 feet of a church. Because if you're going to hire an underage prostitute, at least have the decency to do it where God can't see you.
Ralph Shortey will be incarcerated for a minimum of 10 years. His wife divorced him in March 2018 and is changing her name, and of course all four of their kids' names. He resigned as an Oklahoma senator a few weeks after he was charged, when a bunch of grossed-out Republican colleagues told him to.
