The Government has approved Semicon 2.0 with a ₹1.27 lakh crore outlay to accelerate India's semiconductor ambitions. The mission focuses on chip design, semiconductor equipment and materials, fabrication plants, advanced packaging (ATMP/OSAT), cutting-edge R&D, and talent development. With over 315 universities already teaching chip design and 68,000+ students trained, Semicon 2.0 aims to position India as a trusted global semiconductor hub.
