A dramatic crash Sunday afternoon left the cab of a tractor-trailer dangling off a local interstate overpass.
Police and fire crews were called to the Martin Luther King overpass over I-71 around 5 p.m. The truck driver told investigators he was having problems with his brakes on southbound I-71, so he got off at MLK. That's when his brakes failed, and the semi crashed through the concrete barrier, leaving the cab hanging over the edge.
Crews rescued a man and a woman from the cab by attaching safety harnesses. They were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.
The trailer was empty, but the crash still left behind a big mess.
"They had about 200 gallons of diesel fuel in the tanks. The tanks ruptured and it leaked out to the exit ramp below," said Cincinnati Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Flagler. "It's causing quite a bit of hazardous materials work for your firefighters."
