…With Might And Vengeance is the third studio album by the British band Sellsword, released on July 31, 2026. It is a work spanning over an hour of pure "siegery" (the band's term for their epic battle style), staying true to their signature "Mercenary Metal" sound—a blend of symphonic power metal and epic heavy metal featuring powerful riffs, grand melodies, soaring vocals, and heroic themes.

Hailing from York (UK) and founded in 2013, the band built a reputation with previous albums like …And Now We Ride (2016) and …Unto the Breach (2019), which focused on swords, sieges, sagas, and heroism. With the arrival of vocalist Nathan Harrison (joining in 2022), the sound evolved while retaining its epic essence; singles such as "Saxon Steel" (2024) and "New Gods" (2024) paved the way. The album was announced in May 2026 and includes tracks already familiar to fans.

The record explores bravery and defiance in the face of impossible odds, drawing on historical, mythological, and fantasy narratives. It journeys through: Roman Britain (e.g., Boadicea/Boadićea); medieval Scotland; realms of sinister gods; the halls of Valhalla; fantasy conflicts like mercenaries vs. vampires; and even a song dedicated to a massive trebuchet (a medieval siege engine).

The tone is dark yet heroic and epic, emphasizing vengeance, glory, resilience, and hard-won triumph. The cover art, created by @drakemefestta and @elizabeth_art_creation, perfectly captures this atmosphere.

The album runs for over 60 minutes, featuring the long, epic compositions typical of the band (averaging six minutes or more on previous releases). Sellsword delivers symphonic power metal and epic heavy metal featuring: galloping, melodic riffs; inspired solos; symphonic/orchestral sections; grand, sing-along choruses; Nathan Harrison’s powerful, versatile vocals; and dynamic pacing (ranging from marching mid-tempo beats to faster, heavier sections).

Influences evoke bands like Sabaton (war themes), Gloryhammer (fantasy epic), and Manowar or Blind Guardian (epic scale), all with a British touch and self-deprecating humor ("mercenaries vs. vampires"). It is "seriously unserious"—grand without being pretentious.

Following well-received singles, this album marks the band's full-length return after years of live shows, live EPs, and singles. It saw strong pre-sales (including limited bundles and "blood orange" vinyl via crowdfunding). A launch show is set for York (July 31, 2026) at The Fulford Arms, alongside appearances at Bloodstock Open Air and other events.

Recommended for fans of epic power metal, history, fantasy, and "sword-and-shield" metal. It represents the pinnacle of the band's current era: more mature, cohesive, and ambitious, featuring over an hour of battle anthems ready to "lay siege" to your ears. If you enjoy metal that makes you feel like a warrior with a sword in hand (or a mercenary selling your blade to the highest bidder), this album delivers plenty of might and vengeance. HUZZAH!
