What do bats do when they get sick? Do they stay in their roost to rest, or self-isolate from other bats, or eat fruits or leaves that might have medicinal properties to make themselves better?
SELFCURE, a multi-disciplinary and intercontinental collaboration project, is studying bat health and tracking them in the wild, looking at how they behave when they are going through an immune challenge—and what we can learn from them.
This research is possible thanks to a grant from the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) and funds from HFSP Scientists for Scientists (S4S), an initiative supported by the European Commission:

¿Qué hacen los murciélagos cuando se enferman? ¿Se quedan en su refugio para descansar, o se aislan de otros murciélagos, o comen frutas u hojas que pueden tener propiedades medicinales para sentirse mejor?
SELFCURE, un proyecto de colaboración multidisciplinario e intercontinental está estudiando la salud de los murciélagos y rastreándolos en la naturaleza, observando cómo se comportan cuando están pasando por un reto inmunitario—y lo que podemos aprender de ellos.
Esta investigación es posible gracias a una subvención del Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) y a fondos de HFSP Scientists for Scientists (S4S), una iniciativa respaldada por la Comisión Europea:
