Selective laser paint removal is a process that removes coatings from specific areas to prepare them for other operations like welding or assembly. The process does not damage the part and leaves other coated areas untouched.

In this video, the e-coat is removed from assembly areas areas on seat brackets. To process all areas, a rotary indexer is used to rotate seat brackets during cleaning.

Selective paint stripping offers a range of advantages:

✅ Masking is no longer needed before coating
✅ Surfaces are cleaned with consistency, precision and speed
✅ The metal surface is not damaged
✅ It is possible to clean angled and complex shapes
✅ Manual labor costs are diminished
✅ Cleaning quality can be validated automatically
