The Jharkhand government’s decision to cancel the JSSC-CGL examination has triggered a fresh protest – this time from candidates who had already cleared the exam and secured government jobs.
Soon after Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the Cabinet’s decision, selected JSSC-CGL recruits staged a sit-in outside the Jharkhand Assembly, opposing the cancellation.
While protesting students had demanded the cancellation of the examination over alleged irregularities, those who were selected through the same exam say scrapping it would jeopardise the jobs they had already secured.
The government has also announced the cancellation of all examinations conducted through TDPL and a comprehensive inquiry into recruitment exam irregularities since 2014.
