When I was a closeted adolescent in South America, and then rural Kentucky, I found solace in the social commentary of Seinfeld. It gave me perspective. That might seem odd for a show about a bunch of self-centered idiots. But it was the writing that made me feel understood in some way. It wasn't about admiring the characters, it was about the social commentary the show was making on the world around them, and me. (Not that I understood that at the time.) Anyway, we're all just self-centered idiots stumbling through society. I hope I haven't stumbled too hard here.
