I ordered these, looked at the price, and thought — why is a Seiko Essentials piece $550? Then I took one out of the box and actually figured out how it works. That's when it all made sense.
The Seiko Rotocall is a throwback to a 1970s design, and the secret is that rotating bezel-mode selector at the top. No button mashing to cycle through functions — just turn it. Time, timer, stopwatch, dual time, alarm, counter. It's a genuinely clever piece of engineering wrapped in a retro digital package.
Also featured: a quick look at the new Seiko SSB481 throwback chronograph (green, blue, black dial options) — a nice vintage-styled chrono at a much friendlier price point.
