In this video, I discuss how the Bitcoin soft fork Segwit did not have consensus in 2017, as evidenced by the B-Cash fork.
Segwit would never have activated without the push given by BIP-148 node runners.
Something similar may be taking place with BIP-110 activation today. We are about to see if minority soft forks are still a thing in Bitcoin.
