Another Saturn eBay Rescue! This one ended up having a blown varistor and fuse on the power board. Full run-through on the troubleshooting process, detailed parts #'s and descriptions, as well as a comparo of various 64 pin Saturns.
Big shout out to Luke Morse who did a varistor repair a while back and provided me the answer to what the blown component was.

Not THAT epic, but this is my Sega Saturn Accumulation... which inludes titles like Daytona CCE Netlink (x2) and Panzer Dragoon Saga (x2).
Back in the day, you went to the store, like Software ETC or even the import gaming store- when you asked for the Saturn releases, you were looked at like you just farted or something. There was so much bias against this system, that was mostly perpetuated through the biased US based print media (magazines), along with the questionable decisions of Sega (SOJ and SOA) that the Saturn never had a chance on US soil.
I was part of the relatively small group of Saturn Gamers from around the world- and we were boisterous in our support for the superior eco-system. Notice, I said system, not hardware. From Hardcoregaming.com to UK: Resistance, we shouted from the hilltops that the world truly didnt know what they had on their hands. And from my support in those rebel against the system days- I accumulated and played the covers off the majority of the games you see in this video.
How did I know the Saturn was on a tier arguable higher than the playstation? Because I was one of those had both the Saturn and PSX. Then again, most of those who had a Saturn, also had a PSX. Really, back then, the Saturn owner demographic really was the hardcore gamer. You had to be one to give it a chance.
