MrThunderwing | Sega Rally - Real Arcade Twin Cabinet Gameplay @MrThunderwing | Uploaded November 2023 | Updated October 2024, 55 minutes ago.
A 2 Player versus game on a real Sega Rally twin cabinet. This was recorded at #NQ64 arcade bar in Bristol.
The last time I encountered a real-life Sega Rally twin cabinet, which was in another Bristol City Center Arcade, the left hand monitor was busted and there was no force feedback working on the steering, so it felt a bit too loose, although it actually generally handled ok.
The steering here was absolutely spot on and FFB was working, hurrah! Unfortunately though, the CRTs had been swapped out for some wrong aspect ratio LCD monitors which meant all the cars were stretched out into 16:9 when they should be 4:3. It wasn't too distracting though...
I was driving not particularly well towards the end of the Forest stage, because I was a bit distracted by the fact a big group of lads had just started hanging around a little table I'd left my cup with the remainder on my gaming token in near the SR cabinet and I was hoping they didn't get pinched whilst I was playing the game (they didn't!). I'd tried balancing the cup on the game's dashboard before this video, whilst I was doing a 2 player game against one of the fellas I was there with, and they'd, disastrously, spilled all over the floor just as the stage was starting, resulting in me having to jump out of the cabinet and scrabble around on the floor picking the all up as the game's countdown started...
I still won the 2 player game though :)
