Episode 30 - The amazing Retro stuff just keeps on coming!
Every week we get a pile of new stuff in the Retrogames office to sort, test and list on our world famous website. Every Friday this show gives us the chance to show you the highlights, and play and talk about the vintage videogames we love!
If you're new to the channel, then welcome on board the gaming mystery tour. There is a definite joy to not knowing what's heading our way. With over 25,000 games in stock, we are proud to say there are no formats we don't get excited about.
We love early electronic games and toys, like Game and Watch and Grandstand tabletops. We have 1000s of games for vintage Atari machines and classic 8-bit formats like ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. We still miss the days when cartridges were king, that ground breaking era of classic early consoles like Nintendo NES, Master System, Mega drive and SNES. We love unearthing forgotten gems from the 16-bit era, floppy disc games for Commodore Amiga, Atari ST, and early PC releases. Then it's through to the nineties with the Gameboy, Saturn and Dreamcast, N64 and Gamecube, not forgetting the all conquering Playstation series.
Many seasoned collectors tend to get most excited about the more obscure formats, and we cover all those too. From Intellivision and Colecovision, PC Engine and Neo Geo, Vectrex and Virtual Boy, if it's any game or machine older than the Nintendo Switch, then we cover it, and it might even be in this week's box!
Retrogames started as the worlds first Retrogaming magazine way back in 1995, filled with reviews and analysis of rare games consoles and hard to find videogames. In 1998 our website became the first place you could buy console and computer games on the internet and in 1999 we launched our own London retro shop. Staggeringly it took another twenty years for us to finally launch our own YouTube channel.
