I found myself in Maui during the week of January 12, so of course I rode the Sugar Cane Train. It appears to be past its prime, comparing what I experienced with pictures from years past. In particular, the fields of sugar cane have miraculously turned themselves into condos and golf courses. Also, the train is rather seedy looking and unkempt, and the track is even rougher than the old PC line between COlumbus and St. Louid ever was, for those of you old to remember that. Nevertheless, if you happen to find yourself in Maui with some spare time on your hands its worth a couple of hours. The singing conductor kinda made the trip.
