Many are familiar with the Garden of Gethsemane as the place where Jesus prayed in deep anguish before His arrest (Matthew 26:36–46; Mark 14:32–42; Luke 22:39–46). However, few are aware of what a Gethsemane actually was—a cave, or grotto with an olive press—and that early Christians might have preserved the very place where Jesus prayed that fateful night.
