-A Trump Administration Cabinet member made a stop in the Capital Region on Monday, as U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy visited SUNY Schenectady and Albany International Airport.
His visit included a look at SUNY Schenectady's Air Traffic Control A.A.S. degree program, a tour of Albany International Airport's control tower and an exclusive interview with CBS6.
As a part of the Trump Administration's Working Families Tax Cut Act, Albany International Airport is receiving $26.4 million to help enhance its air traffic. That includes already replacing dual copper telecommunications lines with high-speed fiber to improve telecommunications, New Radios, a Surface Awareness Initiative and more. In total the One Big Beautiful Bill allocated $12.5 billion nationwide.
