They threw a birthday party for him at the Meadow this weekend 27 Mar 2010). Among the 300 in attendance was William "Bill" Nack, sportswriter and author of "Secretariat: The Making of a Champion".
At center stage was Kate Chenery Tweedy, daughter of Secretariat's owner and First Lady of Racing "Penny" Chenery.
Along with local author Leeanne Ladin and publisher Wayne Dementi, Ms.Tweedy has written a book about the largely unreported times of Secretariat at the Meadow.
The book should be out around October, about the time Disney movie about the great champion and his owner 'Penny' Chenery will be hitting the big screen.
