![Majoras Mask TAS Competition: Task 7
This is task 7 of the Majoras Mask TAS competition. There were 6 entrants this time around. I would have liked to see a few more, but this is also not the lowest number of entrants for a task either. The ice physics seemed to have been challenging for some of the entrants to deal with (myself included) and others just entirely avoided ever setting foot on the ice.
More info on this competition as well as the next task can be found here http://www.speedrun.com/mm/thread/5ywn9 The forums have now gotten quite lengthy, so the next task is now on a 2nd page of the forums. I havent even seen a forum on that site go up to 2 pages before, so thats pretty cool. Task 8 should hopefully attract some more people as it is the first zelda TAS competition Im aware of that will take place in one of the temples.
Task 7: Enter the twin islands area from Mountain village and kill a tektite, snapper, white wolfos, and a deku baba. You may not have melted the ice or blown up the rocks beforehand. Goron Mask is banned.

![Better Bomb Only Distance Hovers [TAS]
Yup, more hovering nonsense for TAS.
Rolling on the first HESS frame and megaflipping on the first backflip frame (commonly referred to as frog frames) will give just the right timing and spacing for this to work.
-Pull bomb on the 2nd frame of the backflip and shield drop immediately.
-Hold back to stunt your momentum when speed is -17.85, -13.85, -9.8, and -5.8 for optimal distance.
-In some circumstances, the 2nd bomb may not blow up (might have to do with breath cycles or axis alignment, not totally sure). So far, Ive been able to resolve this by holding forward before rolling to get Link into his walking animation. In this case, I needed to hold back when speed was: -17.85, -13.85, -9.85.
Im still not completely sure what causes this discrepancy, but know that your experience may vary for now.
These megahovers go slightly further than using 2 bomb hovers individually and they are much faster than standard bomb hovers (still nowhere near as fast as chus for distance, but good if they arent available for whatever reason). As an added bonus, Link goes back far enough that its possible to weapon swap sword and bomb to pull the bomb 2 frames faster than waiting for shield to go away on its own.
Rolling on the 2nd HESS frame increases the window for the bomb pull after the megaflip but will reduce total distance traveled in exchange for more height and being within range to initiate chain bomb hovers.
