Note from the teacher: World War II offers a good number of unusual events which can be classified as amazing stories. We had learned in the past about a British pilot (Nicholas Alkemade) during his bombing mission in the Second World War, his plane was shot down and caught fire. He had 2 options: Jump out or stay on the plane. He chose to jump and he survived from a free fall. He landed on the branches of a pine tree which slowed him down and finally he got to the ground covered with thick snow.
