SEASCAPE OF SPRINGTIME: Enter the season where flowers bloom, birds sing and every daybreak brings new hope for a better future with this fusion of Ambient Chillout and Shoegaze music where huge ambient guitars color the soundscape of this track with almost majestic reverberations and echoes, accompanied by warm acoustic guitar rhythms that flow almost endlessly in a sonic ocean of soothing atmospheric pads reminiscence of Springtime and with a drum machine that plays in an imperfect, humanly fashion to add to the organic groove.

Music Backstory: "Seascape of Springtime" is a music about imagining what the tropical seas in my country (Indonesia) were to look like if Spring Season occurs here. This music was born when I was playing with my piano module and using it with a vintage reverb (multi-effect) unit from the late 1980s, which is the Yamaha FX-500. This effect unit is famous in the Shoegaze genre, made popular by Slowdive, specifically one of the FX-500’s presets which is “Soft Focus”. This preset can transform any “basic” sounding instrument sounds into ethereal atmospheric pad-like sounds that can be heard all the way throughout this music.
Music Notes:
- Almost every sounds and instruments heard on this music are from real hardwares and musical instruments, with the exception of the Marimba (starts at 00:24 mark) which is from a virtual instrument.
- The Drum Machine that does the drum part starting from the Climax section (00:52 mark) is from the Roland R-8 Mark II Drum Machine, however it is played live manually with an off-the-grid, imperfect timing, adding to this music a more organic rhythmic feel compared to programmed MIDI parts or pre-programmed rhythm presets on a drum machine.
- This music was originally planned to have ocean waves recording that I recorded from Manado coast as its ambience from start to finish, but upon closer examination, this music instead has more “intimate” vibe without distracting sea wave sounds throughout, so I just cut the ambience clip for a brief moment that plays just before the guitar Climax section.
