On today's adventure, we head out to south Mississippi in order to search for vipers! On this particular adventure, we ran into one of the most camouflage snakes that live here, the venomous copperhead!

Copperheads are a pit viper species located throughout the united states, and have many different coloration and forms. In Mississippi, the southern copperheads that live there have a lighter color to match their environment. These snakes, being vipers, have hinged fangs, and have a pretty nasty bite. Their hemotoxic venom attacks blood cells, and is used to hunt mice, rats, lizards, and even large insects like cicadas and locusts. While copperheads are considered to have the least potent venom of North America's venomous snakes, their bites do cause severe damage, that can lead to amputation of limbs, or even death, so please, don't try this at home.
