Though they appear similar on the surface, Spiritfarer is the opposite of Animal Crossing: Animal Crossing is about new beginnings, plans, potential—each new villager is a slot along a grid of possible villagers; Spiritfarer is about endings and guaranteed loss—you are assisting in redemption, grief, and, ultimately, death.
