Notes: Ventura County Sheriff’s Department Search & Rescue team was at the right place at the right time as the witnessed a grey Nissan swerve across all lanes of the 118fwy hitting the guard rail and tumble down a steep mountain side. The crews immediately sprung into action extricating one female victim and conducted a litter basket operation back up to the freeway.
Sgt. Dyer of VCSO SAR Team explained that his team was heading back to Thousand Oaks after a day of training in Victorville. They just happened to witness the crash right in front of their convoy and did not hesitate to save the victim and relay critical information to incoming responders.
