There are so many ports, but we have to play the one that is most unlikely.

Doom followed in the footsteps of id Software's previous first person shooter Wolfenstein 3D, with a improved 3D engine, and dialing up its weirder aspects to 11 in this ostensibly Mars-based hellscape that has spawned numerous sequels.

The SNES port is of particular intrigue for two reasons: 1) It follows after attempts to tone down Mature-rated games like Mortal Kombat that were wildly outsold by the Sega Genesis offering, and 2) It's one of a small handful of games that actually made use of the Super FX chip.

Rumor has it the pre-release version actually worked with the SNES mouse. While the code still exists in the game, it didn't make it to the publish version... but that won't stop us from trying!
