The Week I Review | Sea Wall / A Life is an odd (but compelling) choice for Broadway | Play Review @TheWeekIReview | Uploaded September 2019 | Updated October 2024, 9 hours ago.
Entry 55: Sea Wall / A Life is playing for a few more weeks at the Hudson Theater. I went in completely blind, which I make a serious effort to do any time I know I'm going to see something,* which I knew I would here because even though I did an entire video about stars on Broadway, I'm a sucker for Jake Gyllenhaal.

NOTE: My mom pointed out that I got the timeline in A Life wrong and that the events are told simultaneously but aren't happening that way. Oops. My girlfriend who pre-screened this did not point it out.

*On the Exhale, clearly, was another one of those cases. I didn't even realize that the writer and the performer weren't the same person, because one was Marin and the other was Martin and I barely glanced at the creative team before deciding to see it. (I'm a big fan of Roundabout as well as New York Theater Workshop.)
