🐢 Big news from our sea turtle nesting team! So far this season, our nesting surveys have recorded approximately 200 nests—putting us on track for a record-breaking year! Our patrol team also found 300 false crawls. These are unsuccessful nesting attempts that happen when a sea turtle comes ashore but doesn’t lay eggs, often due to obstacles or disturbances on the beach. You can help protect nesting sea turtles and hatchlings by keeping beaches clean, dark, and flat—free of trash, lights, and obstacles on the beach at night.
