For the Champion of Souls Event, the Order of Souls will be keeping track of the Soul Fragments you release every time you slay the undead—like a point system.
Once you have met certain point thresholds, the Order of Souls will reward you with their newly commissioned Order of Souls Weapons Cosmetics.
For this Event, the Order of Souls has curated a list of Challenges, which show pirates how many Soul Fragments they’ll release for various feats.
These Challenges include on-demand bounties, emergent threats, and World Events!
In this video, we will go over each of the different challenges, how to complete them, how to take advantage of the Soul Fragment Boost mechanic and more!

ADDITIONAL TIPS & INSIGHTS:
—Ghost Ship Problems?—
When this event first began, we heard terrifying tales of invincible Ghost Ships. More recently, we've now seen and heard pirates successfully defeating these Ghost Ships.
Our recommendation? Proceed with Caution.
If you hit a Grunt Ghost Ship with 3 cannonballs, and it vanishes. Fantastic! If you pummel a Grunt Ghost Ship with several cannonballs and the ship remains... "Fly, you fools!" Get out of that fight as quickly as you can!
—The Title Earned for Collecting 500 Soul Fragments—
In the game's menu, and on the official website, the title is listed as "Hoarder of Souls." However, when pirates actually unlock the title, it is called "Champion of Souls." We think either title would rattle a skellie's bones.
—Getting Credit for the Kill—
Make sure you slay your foes directly. If a skeleton dies by fire, volcano, or geyser, you will not earn Soul Fragments for their demise. If you use gunpowder barrels, you must be direct cause for its explosion. If a skeleton ignites it, if fire lights its fuse, or if it goes off in a chain reaction, you will not earn credit for the skeleton’s defeat.
The same goes for other harms befalling skeletons (lightning, snake venom, etc.). However, those are far less common. Your biggest concerns will be fire, volcanoes, geysers, and gunpowder barrels.
—Skeleton Captains on Skeleton Ships—
As you may already know, when you kill a Skeleton Captain on a Skeleton Ship, that Captain will respawn. Currently, this means you can board a Skeleton Ship and defeat the Captain over and over until you’ve accrued all 500 Soul Fragments.
Ah, but this might not last long… It might only be a short while before the Order of Souls catches wind of this and stops awarding points for repeat slayings. After all, presumably one Skeleton Captain will only have a certain number of Soul Fragments to give, whether they are cut down once or a hundred times.
—Order of Souls Emissary Quests—
We neglected to mention another fantastic way to hunt down Skeleton Captains. If you raise your Order of Souls Emissary flag, you can work your way up to Grade 5. At Grade 5, you can claim an “Emissary Quest” from the Order of Souls.
The Order of Souls Emissary Quest consists of four Bounty quests. For each Bounty quest, there will be four Skeleton Captains—each with a Villainous Skull. Even better, often these Bounty quests are on smaller islands. This makes it far easier to find and slay your skeletons. (On smaller islands, we like rounding the skellies up on the beach and using our cannons.)
