Sea and shore rotations are each vital parts of the fleet’s mission. Find out more about life as a Sailor at sea and back home here: bit.ly/3zcyZzo

As a Sailor, you’ll rotate between commands that are at sea or on shore. Sea duty is when you’re connected to a ship, aviation squadron or expeditionary unit and you travel the world with it. You could visit foreign countries on deployment, conduct humanitarian missions or even be docked at your home base in the U.S. After a few years, you’ll rotate to land-based shore duty, where you’ll get to use your skills in a new way, get a chance to go back to school or even serve as an instructor.
