Speaker: Mr. Kevin Muhs PE, AICP, Executive Director of the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC)
HSRA is very pleased to have Mr. Muhs speak about SEWRPC’s Vision 2050 Transportation Plan. SEWRPC is the local Municipal Planning Organization (MPO) for seven counties that make up their planning area. They are Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Ozaukee, Walworth, Waukesha, and Washington counties. It is a large region that is comprised of 2689 square miles, and has approximately 36% of Wisconsin’s total population.
Mr. Muhs will speak about their planning efforts regarding intercity rail projects as well as important local projects that are being proposed and studied by their staff. Focus will be on improvements to the Chicago to Milwaukee Hiawatha service, with rail extensions to Madison and Green Bay, and local transit improvements in the 7 county SEWRPC service area.
