After the 2015 documentary (jcmdi.com/scrubjay/index.html) with two chicks (both were unfortunately taken by a Cooper's Hawk while out learning to fly), the Scrub Jay pair attempted another brood that same year which apparently failed due to a poor nesting location. In 2016, the pair successfully reared several chicks in an inaccessible location which prevented observation and documentation. In 2017, the pair is at it again...
These timelapse sequences filmed were with a GoPro Hero4 black 4K (reduced to full HD for this upload) at 1 and 2 second intervals, using the same pole cam setup as in 2015. These scenes were filmed May 2nd through May 11 in somewhat hot weather, so we see the birds all sprawled-out trying to lose some heat.
