THE RULES:
-The videos must be submitted in an .mp4 container format with h.264 compression, using one of the following bitrates for their corresponding resolution:
4k: 40Mbps
1080p: 16Mbps
720p: 12Mbps
480p: 8Mbps
-And the videos must also be in one of the following framerates:
23.976 FPS
24 FPS
29.97 FPS
30 FPS
-No vertical or square video submissions. Your film’s aspect ratio can be as narrow as 4:3 or as wide as 2.35:1.
-You must put a 5 second title card, plain white text on a black backdrop, at the beginning of your film with your name, the film’s title, and an email to reach the contestant(s) at. This 5 second title does not count against your run time.
-Limit 1 entry per contestant.
-All videos must be the equivalent of a PG rating and kid friendly.
-Videos must have a total run time of no less than 3 minutes and no longer than 10 minutes long. This includes any intros and credits you include, though we reserve the right to cut out titles and credits in the screening for time purposes.
-By submitting your film, you consent to Power Morphicon to screen it at this and future conventions.
-Submitted films must be original and created for the Power Morphicon 2024 Fanfilm Contest. Films that have been released or uploaded to video sharing sites before the fanfilm screening panel will be disqualified.
-You may not collaborate with any of the judges on creating your fanfilm. This includes using them to help write the film, act in it, do any post production work on it, etc.
- You must include at least 1 item from Power Rangers or Super Sentai (toy, costume, morpher, etc) and include the term “Morphin’ Grid” in your submission.
-All video in the film must be of your own original recording.
-You may use audio and music tracks from pre-existing Power Rangers or Toku shows and movies in your film.
-You may not use any AI generated imagery, audio, or scriptwriting in your submission.
-You may base your film on any season, movie, or comics from Power Rangers, or any Tokusatsu/Ameritoku series.
-You will submit your film via a Dropbox link by August 10th, 11:59 pm PST, which we will release a month before Power Morphicon 2024 with further instructions.
-We will notify the filmmakers whose films we’re screening via email.
