Now that we all know Neve Campbell Scream 5 is most likely a sure thing, the question becomes what kind of role will Sidney play in the Scream reboot. Will this just be a cameo in Scream 5 or will Sidney get killed off for good?

With the latest piece of Scream 5 news, we can all but confirm that Neve Campbell will be joining the Scream 5 cast to reprise her role of Sidney Prescott. The directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not) have been having conversations with the actress on with the idea in mind to include her in the script.
With a filming date of May 2020 (this month!) it's a little bizarre that they would be having this conversation now, which suggests that her presence in the film is more of an afterthought, and will just be a mere cameo. With the original film's 25th anniversary coming up just in time for a 2021 release date, one would hope that she will have more involvement in the story than that.
But what would her involvement be? Could the Scream 5 killer be the one to finally kill of Sid? Will this be a brand new Scream trilogy where we can send Sidney off in a 3-part epic? Or will she be popping in to pass the torch along to somebody new, possibly a still alive Kirby?
We know the Scream 5 plot involves a woman who returns to her hometown to investigate a series of brutal crimes. So is the woman Sidney, and the town Woodsboro? I have my own theory on how Sidney should come back for Scream 5 with that plot synopsis in mind, which I'd like to share with you in this video.
