This Vortex Genie 2 sample mixer is a heavy unit. it's heavy as its motor creates an oscillation that when a test tube containing a liquid sample is placed on the top of the unit, the oscillation creates a vortex in the liquid, which in turn mixes the liquid thoroughly.
Not a unit that contains lots of interior mechanisms, but it did contain a variety of metals.
