On 2 March 2021 the Defamation and Malicious Publications (Scotland) Bil reached its third and final stage of debate. Check out the footage from that debate.

In a big win for free expression, the Scottish Parliament voted to include two amendments that would improve the balance between freedom of expression and protection of reputation.

Here is Fulton MacGregor SNP MSP introducing and explaining the amendment that he worked with ORG to produce, followed by John Finnie Green MSP supporting the amendment and mentioning that an ORG supporting constituent had lobbied him successfully to back the proposal.

Finally Ash Denham SNP MSP and Minister for Community Safety, the Minister in charge of the Bill, rises to support Fulton and ORG’s amendment.
