Audio: Protégé Saxophone Ensemble
A musical representation of the inextinguishable, fiery spirit of energetic youth, this piece begins with a theme that is full of vigour, but lacking direction. With solid grounding appearing in the form of fuller harmonies, the theme is transformed as the piece continues to unfold, symbolising the transformative power that grit and determination can bring about towards one’s life.
After some much-needed moments of respite and reflection, the transformed theme appears once again. With renewed strength, the music then blazes forth towards a glorious ending, signifying the reward that comes to all who strive with their entire heart and soul.
