SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev said the organization's appeal lies in the vitality of the "Shanghai Spirit," which is rooted in equality, mutual respect, mutual benefit, consensus-based decision-making, respect for diverse civilizations and shared development.

Speaking to China Media Group (CMG) ahead of the upcoming summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, he said all member states enjoy equal status and an equal voice regardless of their size or economic strength. He added that the organization is actively building cooperation mechanisms and reinforcing its legal framework to meet the technological demands of the modern era.
