15.03.2022 - Alle konventionellen Wege, den Regierungen und der Öffentlichkeit die drohende Katastrophe des Zusammenbruchs des Weltklimas begreiflich zu machen, sind gescheitert. Die Emissionen steigen weiter, Ökosysteme werden weiter zerstört. Der nächste Bericht des Weltklimarats, den Scientist Rebellion vorab geleakt hat, wird am 4. April veröffentlicht. Zwitgleich rufen wir zum zivilen Widerstand auf!
Prof. Dr. Niko Froitzheim, Professor für Geowissenschaften an der Uni Bonn, fasst die dringliche Situation der ökologischen Krise zusammen und berichtet, warum er sich jetzt auch als Aktivist engagiert.
Dr. Tadzio Müller schrieb seine Doktorarbeit in Politikwissenschaft, war Mitgründer von Ende Gelände und ist seit Jahren sehr aktiv zu den Themen Klima- und soziale Gerechtigkeit.
Wissenschaftler:innen sehen deutlich die riesige Lücke zwischen dem Wissen über die Krise und dem politischem Handeln beziehungsweise Nicht-Handeln. Wenn jemand erkennt, dass es brennt, ist diese Person in der Verantwortung, allen die Gefahr bewusst zu machen, damit sie sich in Sicherheit bringen können.
Für uns von Scientist Rebellion sind die Zeiten der ausschließlich neutralen Wissenschaftskommunikation vorbei. Dieses Jahrzehnt ist das wichtigste in der Menschheitsgeschichte. Wann wollen wir uns gegenüber politischer Ignoranz und Korruption aufbäumen wenn nicht jetzt? Klimarevolution oder wir verlieren alles!

All conventional ways of making governments and the public understand the impending catastrophe of the collapse of the world's climate have failed. Emissions continue to rise, ecosystems continue to be destroyed. The next report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which Scientist Rebellion has leaked in advance, will be published on 4 April. At the same time, we call for civil resistance!
Prof. Dr. Niko Froitzheim, Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Bonn, summarises the urgent situation of the ecological crisis and reports why he is now also involved as an activist.
Dr. Tadzio Müller wrote his doctoral thesis in political science, was co-founder of Ende Gelände and has been very active on the issues of climate and social justice for years.
Scientists clearly see the huge gap between knowledge about the crisis and political action or inaction. When someone realises that there is a fire, it is that person's responsibility to make everyone aware of the danger so that they can get to safety.
For us at Scientist Rebellion, the days of exclusively neutral science communication are over. This decade is the most important in human history. When will we rise up in the face of political ignorance and corruption if not now? Climate revolution or we lose everything!
