Scientifica met Dr Greg Schwartz at the European Retina Meeting on a sunny day in Brighton, UK, just down the road from our headquarters in Uckfield.

Dr Greg Schwartz's lab focuses on the circuit mechanisms underlying sensory computation. They use the mouse retina as a model system allowing them to stimulate circuits precisely with their natural input, patterns of light, and record its natural output, the spike trains of retinal ganglion cells.

They harness the power of genetic manipulations and detailed information about cell types to uncover new circuits and discover their role in visual processing.

Their methods include electrophysiology, computational modeling, and circuit tracing using a variety of imaging techniques, including multiphoton microscopy.
