In September, 1962, our nation was both challenged and inspired to achieve the impossible. A look back at the history of space travel to a time when Greatness was what we were called upon to do in the face of a challenge.
It was the height of the Cold War. One month later nuclear missiles were found in Cuba... 90 miles from our shores.
My father was one of the 400,000 that worked to make this happen.
