Well, the Easter egg hunt is over, and our mom is making Deviled Eggs. But what to do with the leftover eggshells, throw them away? Heck no, grab some vinegar and we'll show you what to do!
You can make a fire starter just like sterno for cooking and other emergency/survival situations. It's so easy even a kid can do it!
Just crush your shells with a mortar and pestle but you don’t have one you can use a muddler or just smash ‘em up with your hands. Then just toss them into a jar and cover them with vinegar and they'll start bubbling! Mix it up until the bubbling stops, then grab a coffee filter and strain it.
Gently boil the mixture until about half of it evaporates. Then pour some rubbing alcohol into the mix and watch it solidify. You can scoop the hardened gel into an Altoids can or something similar. Then when you need to roast some hot dogs, just take it out!
