Ana Mo Shoshin | Sci Fi Sept Planetary Tag | Original Tag | Inspirations and Recommendations for Sci Fi September @AnaMoShoshin | Uploaded September 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Hi, I’m Mo.
In September 2022, I made some prompts for inspiration for one of the most well known readathons: Sci Fi September!
Sci Fi Sept is where you read all manner of sci fi! This nestles quite nicely with space opera sept, as well!
In 2021, I followed some of the prompts that @booksaremysociallife created, but in 2022, I didn't see anyone making sci fi prompts. So I thought I would make my own! I didn't actually use them, only created them. So this year in 2023 I wanted to use the prompts to make a vlog (coming soon) but as I did, I realized these would be perfect for a quick and easy tag!
And so the Sci Fi Sept Planetary Tag was born! Below are the people I tagged in the video, plus a few more, but everyone should feel free to use this tag if they want to! Also, you can make this tag more challenge by picking only books by authors of color, or only books in translation, etc...
Just bc this tag was designed for Sept doesn't mean you have to do it in that month! Enjoy these sci fi recs anytime!
Here is my original prompt video: youtu.be/_KNQGvccQ08
There are 8 prompts that correlate with the 8 planets of our solar system, plus a bonus prompt. Feel free to use them as inspiration for your sci reading, in sept and always! Of course prompts can be combined, stretched, reimagined, as you see fit!
Mercury - A short sci fi book, novella or short story (perfect to fit for #shortyseptember readathon put on by @pastorytime2683 )
Venus - A sci fi romance or book about twins
Earth - a sci fi comfort read
Mars - Sci fi book with red on the cover or featuring Mars or Martians
Jupiter - A sci fi horror
Saturn - Sci fi that's part of a series or that is set in space ( this could be a great prompt to combine with #spaceoperaseptember)
Uranus - Sci fi book out of your comfort zone
Neptune - Water themed sci fi
Bonus: The Sun - Classic sci fi book or author
I tag:
