Lori and Ilan Alhadeff, the parents of Alyssa Alhadeff, who lost her life in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, joined Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) at a press conference in Woodcliff Lake to announce a proposed law called "Alyssa’s Legacy Youth in Schools Safety Act." Local officials also attended to show support for the "ALYSSA Act," which would "require silent panic alarms in all schools to immediately alert law enforcement of an active shooter situation. It will also increase investment in more well-trained School Resource Officers, to help protect students and faculty."
