The significance of the empty tomb is hard to overstate.
Couple it with the general agreement of scholars that Jesus really did die on the cross, that Jesus' disciples really had experiences that they were convinced were the risen Christ, and that these disciples were willing to suffer greatly (demonstrating the genuineness of their testimonies) and we have some strong indications that Jesus was NOT just a random Jew from the 1st century. He was the one who died and rose again.
There's a TON more evidence for the resurrection of Christ. I hope you'll start digging for it.
