This song is a result of lot of effort, many cuts, edits, crops. My first attempt at putting together a tune using all the tools available to me. I personally absolutely LOVE this tune. I hope you do too.
Lyrics by me:
“You were chasing signal through the static… until the Island called you home.”
I crossed the tide at silver dusk
The sky was cracked in violet rust
A sign half-buried in the sand
Said “Welcome back, you understand”
The halls were lit with candle smoke
Each mirror whispered as I spoke
A woman dressed in woven light
Said “You’ve been here every night”
I asked her name, she turned away
“You’ll learn it when you choose to stay”
This is the Island, where memory sleeps
Where time folds in and silence weeps
You can leave, but not alone
The Island keeps what you’ve outgrown
I saw my shadow split in two
One walked ahead, one stayed with you
The woman smiled and touched my hand
“You’re not the first to misunderstand”
I asked again, she closed her eyes
“You’ll know the truth when myth survives”
This is the Island, where memory sleeps
Where time folds in and silence weeps
You can leave, but not alone
The Island keeps what you’ve outgrown
The mirrors cracked, the candles died
But still her voice was amplified
“You came for answers, not escape
The Island waits beneath your shape”
“You never left. You only forgot.”
